On behalf of our client, a leading Local Authority based in Morden (Surrey), we are currently looking to recruit 2 Senior Design Engineer . Location: Southern Part of England. Duration: Permanent or minimum two year contract.Employment starting date: To be agreed. Working days and hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Wages offered:Up to £30,000 per annum. Paid:Monthly. Accommodation no offered.

Employee’s Duties:
- Supervise and develop a team of Junior Engineers
- Manage projects through the design and drawing office
- Design of medium rise building structures with hot and cold rolled steel, incorporating concrete and joisted floors
- Design of secondary structural support systems and communicating this design to customer
- Providing technical support to team of Sales Managers. Advise to include structural, fire, acoustic and thermal issues.
- Attend Design Team Meeting and Site Visits as necessary at various locations across the UK.

Required Experience:
- Structural design of a variety of building structures in all materials, but with focus towards steelwork
- General UK codes of practice, e.g. BS 5950, BS6399, BS8110; BS5628; BS5268
- Design of Composite Concrete Floor Slabs
- Some experience of timber trusses (detailed design not necessary)
- Representing the company at Design Team Meetings
- Ability to communicate design effectively via verbal description and sketches/drawings
- Familiarity with AutoCad
- Dealing with other related building control issues such as fire, thermal and acoustic performance
- Site experience
- Construction contractual matters and commerical awareness

- Ability to operate on own initiative and within teams

Car driver essential. Languages required with levels: Fluent English as will be dealing with customers
